The Community Centre Alliance (CCA) in partnership with the Prom Dreams Project Advisory Committee is currently seeking a full-time Prom Dreams Project Coordinator to fulfill a 1 year employment contract from July 2012 – June 2013.
The Prom Dreams Project is an initiative that was proposed by a collaboration of community organizations including CCA, Thrive, the St. John’s Women’s Centre, etc. that identified the need to support young people and their families to access the graduation experience.The objective of the project is to provide support to vulnerable young people from low income neighbourhoods and remove barriers such that they are able to both attend their high school graduation ceremonies / celebration events as well as have access to the full “Prom” experience of attending such events including access to formal attire, hair styling, make-up application, accessories, flowers, etc.
Under the guidance of the Prom Dreams Project Advisory Committee, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and completing project objectives in a proposed timeline.
This position is dependent on funding through the Job Creations Partnership program. Applicants must be unemployed and currently in receipt of EI; or have received EI within the last (3) three years
or (5) five years for maternity benefits.
