Education Coordinator -Volunteer Engagement and Support

The Canadian Cancer Society is currently seeking applications for a one-year contract position for an Education Coordinator – Volunteer Engagement and Support.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, evaluate, and manage volunteers across Newfoundland & Labrador with the goal to deliver presentations to the public that would increase awareness on cancer prevention
  • Improve access to, and the understanding of, cancer related information through educational programs delivered by trained volunteers living across Newfoundland & Labrador
  • Record volunteer data to ensure up-to-date, accurate records are captured of project outcomes
  • Schedule educational sessions throughout Newfoundland & Labrador
  • Empower people to ask questions and receive information regarding healthy living, cancer prevention, early detection and screening, cancer services and support

 

Qualifications

Formal Education Required

  • Completion of a related post secondary education program.

Experience Required for the Job

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a customer based/volunteer environment that required strong interpersonal abilities
  • Experience in dealing with personal, confidential information
  • Experience in program development, delivery and evaluation
  • Experience  developing, implementing and facilitating training and workshop delivery
