The Canadian Cancer Society is currently seeking applications for a one-year contract position for an Education Coordinator – Volunteer Engagement and Support.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, evaluate, and manage volunteers across Newfoundland & Labrador with the goal to deliver presentations to the public that would increase awareness on cancer prevention
- Improve access to, and the understanding of, cancer related information through educational programs delivered by trained volunteers living across Newfoundland & Labrador
- Record volunteer data to ensure up-to-date, accurate records are captured of project outcomes
- Schedule educational sessions throughout Newfoundland & Labrador
- Empower people to ask questions and receive information regarding healthy living, cancer prevention, early detection and screening, cancer services and support
Qualifications
Formal Education Required
- Completion of a related post secondary education program.
Experience Required for the Job
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a customer based/volunteer environment that required strong interpersonal abilities
- Experience in dealing with personal, confidential information
- Experience in program development, delivery and evaluation
- Experience developing, implementing and facilitating training and workshop delivery
