Newfoundland and Labrador Speech and Debate Union

Duties

School Debate Coaches will, using the resources of Speech and Debate Union, attend student debate club meetings in their local Jr. High and High Schools and provide feedback and advice to any and all students that are interested in the art of debating. They will also promote public speech and debating within their communities and help students develop strategies to recruit new members for their debate clubs. Coaches will work with students to improve their skills as debaters and prepare them for provincial tournaments and seminars. Coaches may attend the 2012 Student Debate Seminar hosted by the NLSDU if they wish to expand on the training and resources provided to them with the coaching workshops offered there.
