As many as 46 communities and organizations across Newfoundland and Labrador have been awarded $100 grants to help with hosting volunteer celebration events. Interest was high this year, with a diverse and far-reaching list of more than 100 applicants.
A special thank you goes out to this year’s sponsors who made these grants possible, including the VOCM Cares Foundation, the Voluntary Non-Profit Secretariat - Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Bell Aliant, Recreation Newfoundland and Labrador, and the law firm of Simmonds, Breen and Sullivan.
Grant recipients include the Bay St. George Status of Women (Stephenville), the Town of Rocky Harbour, the Town of Mary's Harbour, Labrador Straits Regional Recreation Board (L'Anse au Clair), Ananaukatiget Tumingit (Makkovik), the Town of Springdale, the North Haven Manor Long Term Facility (Lewisporte), and the U-Turn Addiction Drop-in Centre (Carbonear), to name a few.
