$$$ “Cheque it Out” is looking for advisory volunteers at CSC $$$

Can you help?  Non-profit groups often tell us they want to know more about controlling the flow of money. They want to avoid the petty theft or just plain loss of money that comes from poor internal financial controls.  Community Sector Council NL, with the assistance of United Way Newfoundland and Labrador wants to help.  You can too.

In 2012, CSC will prepare a series of checklists and learning opportunities, such as webinars and podcasts, to assist with best practices on everything from cheque-signing policies to payroll oversight and how to review bank reconciliations. You can assist by volunteering on an advisory committee to help us review needs in the community as we plan how to present the checks and balances community groups want and need. Let us know if you wish to volunteer.

Our meetings are likely to be on telephone conference so you can help out from any part of the province.  Any staff person or volunteer with an interest in money management is welcome.  If you have questions, call us toll free at 1 866 753 9860 and ask for Darlene Scott.
