The 3^rd Annual Cabot Loop Volunteer Week Reception was held on April 15 to recognize and say thanks to the many volunteers of the region.  Almost 200 people from all over the Cabot Loop Area, on the tip of the Bonavista Peninsula, attended the event in Port Union.

Every day in every community in our province, people are touched by the work of volunteers. About 46.5% of Newfoundland and Labrador residents volunteer - that’s about 197,000 people. They give a lot, an average of 176 hours annually. They promote our arts and culture, provide essential services, protect our environment, coach our children, contribute to economic development, empower our youth and raise money for charitable services. They give their time, skills and talents to the service of others and to make our communities better places to live.
