The Community Sector Council (CSC) Newfoundland and Labrador and the Volunteer Week 2011 Committee, along with our Honourary Chair, Mary Walsh are encouraging everyone to make an effort to recognize and thank volunteers and to embrace this year’s theme, “Volunteers...Stars in the Community,” especially during Volunteer Week 2011, April 10-16.
To get ready, the Volunteer Week Kit is now available:
With the kind support of the VOCM Cares Foundation and Bell Aliant, we are able to offer $100 grants to 14+ organizations and/or communities to host an event to celebrate volunteerism. Apply online.
The CSC and the Volunteer Week Committee, in partnership with Municipalities Newfoundland & Labrador, are encouraging town councils around the province to acknowledge Volunteer Week by signing a Proclamation Form (download PDF file above to obtain Proclamation form).
You can register a volunteer(s) to be recognized at the event by submitting a registration form. Categories include individual, group, family, corporate and media. Apply online.
This event is an opportunity for your group to promote itself and attract new interest from the community. Set up a booth at the Volunteer Expo and show the public what you’re all about and what you have to offer. Apply online.
In celebration of Volunteer Week, Honorary Patron for Volunteer Week 2011 in Newfoundland and Labrador, His Honour, Lieutenant Governor John C. Crosbie, PC, OC, ONL, QC and Her Honour, Jane Furneaux Crosbie will be hosting a reception. Space is limited and will be filled on a first come basis by submitting a registration form.
